Big Island Lava Update

Lava action on the Big Island is heating up. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a long sliver of the northeast inner ledge fell into the lava lake in Halemaumau crater. Officials say active lava flows are inching toward the ocean. Currently, lava flow is about one-sixth of a mile away from pouring into the Pacific Ocean.
